About the Author
Born 3/14/1960 in Sycamore, Il. the 6th child of 8. Father James G. Ballotti, a high school English teacher. Mother Diane L. Ballotti, a successful Certified Financial Planner. Grew up in La Grange, Il. Attended Cossitt Elementary School and Lyons Township High School. Attended University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana 1980 - 1984. Majored in Rhetoric. Minors in Math and Geology. Received BA in 1984.
First wrote "The Black Blade" in 1982 while attending classes in Rome, Italy. Revised the book in 1990. Completed the trilogy in 1995, the same year the first book came out.
