Daniel Drubach, M.D. was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and spent most of his early teenage years in Los Angeles, California. Upon his return to Argentina he lived through the military dictatorship there from 1976 to 1981, an experience that became a powerful influence on his subsequent writing. He returned to the United States in 1982 and currently resides and practices medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Both a neurologist and a psychiatrist, Daniel's special interest is the relationship between the neurosciences and spirituality, and his well known book The Brain Explained explores the metaphysical aspects of the brain. Several of Daniel's stories have been published in various literary journals, and he was awarded the Caminos award by the Universidad del Salvador for "The Man With No Arms," one of the stories in the present volume. Daniel cites his patients as the greatest source of inspiration for his writings.
