Book Description
It’s 1954, and Perry Palmer and three friends approach their senior year at New Rose HS. There’s a notable absence of drugs, violence and random sex in this era, but everything isn’t dullsville. During the year Perry and pals pilfer golf flags and attempt to build their own course, engage in Hellnight and Mad Friday, prowl the local Lover’s Lane, and survive multiple sports mishaps.
In addition, a curvy French Exchange Student arrives. Soon Perry’s entangled in a hushed-up scandal involving Francoise and the devious principal. Should he risk losing a scholarship by squealing? All concludes riotously graduation night.
About the Author
Wes Perrin is a native, mossback Oregonian who spent his first 22 years in the Parkrose neighborhood on the outskirts of Portland. He endured 12 years in the Parkrose public schools, and remembers those years with relish. After graduation from Portland State, he meandered into the advertising business and eventually helped found an award-winning ad agency, Borders Perrin & Norrander, from which he happily retired at age 50.
Afterward he authored a book on the advertising business, Advertising Realities, (Mayfield/McGraw Hill ) and actually sold a few articles and stories to assorted obscure periodicals. This is his first novel.
He currently lives on Peyton Place (just like the book in the 50's), near Bend, Oregon.
