Book Description
Binder Paper Memories is a collection of thoughts, ideas, fears, skits and events that took place in Kyle's life from the age of 14 to the age of 19. "The book is designed to distract, to strike the reader into a world inhabited by talking seagulls, explosive pennies, heroic cliff stories and running starfish, rather than suffer and feel alone in the real world surrounded by cubicles and reality TV shows." Growing up, Kyle watched Andy Kaufman perform at the Carnegie Hall, Pauly Shore whack a panda mascot in the head and Guns-N-Roses perception of Los Angeles in "Welcome to the jungle." Highly influenced by these idols and well endowed by his father's grasp of humor and laughter, Kyle soon dedicated himself to entertaining others. "I remember my father laughing all of the time" states Kyle today, "and doing really weird things, anyone around him was happy and laughing as well... even when they didn't understand, and I want to do the same for them." Argued as one of the most bizarre "journals" ever created, "Binder Paper Memories" also contains some of the most touching aspects from the young writer, "There are some really "insane" things going in the book, but mixed every here and there, are true expressions and feelings I felt I should share, to represent emotion and compassion in the midst's of confusion... as it often is in life... it seems to be thrown together randomly, but I tried very hard to help the reader forget anything negative or bothersome around them, I figured the weirder it was, the farther they could slip into the rabbit hole."
