Book Description
This story is about a colony of creatures known as Tushies who depict the beauty and richness of a multi-cultural society, as Tushies come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. They portray a tenderness for family, camaraderie and community. Tushies reveal their happiness and their mishaps but, most importantly, they bare the treasure of a child's imagination.
About the Author
Deborah Favorite is a native of Southern California, and has raised two very special Tushies of her own, Lindsay and Nicholas. Deborah has spent most of her child-rearing days as a single mom and has loved nearly every moment. When Lindsay was a toddler, it seemed every time Deborah attempted to change her diaper, Lindsay would escape her clutches and run through the house screeching with excitement challenging Deborah to a game of catch-me-if-you-can. This enormously entertaining event inspired Deborah to write a poem which she titled, "The Tush People." Nearly 20 years later, Uncle Norm brought these endearing creatures to life with his wonderful illustrations.
Norman Arinsberg, a native of Venice, California has been producing beautiful images seen around the country for over 30 years. His black and white artistic pieces are done in India ink and charcoal. Many of his other works can be found in water color, acrylic and oils, but he is probably best known for his whimsical cartooning. Norm's greatest treasures are his wife Margaret, his two children, two granddaughters and, of course, the joy he derives from making hearts smile through his cartooning.
