Book Description
Hospital stays are filled with long hours and many discomforts. A patient has time to think and pray and plan for the future. Mostly one wonders about getting well. Will the surgery or hospital stay solve the problem? What more can be done? What other aids are available in assisting the recovery?

Through the course of four major surgeries, Methodist minister Deorsay McCasland had plenty of time to ask himself all of these questions and more. What he discovered was that the key to healing properly lies in a positive mental attitude. He realized the two things that infused him with hope more than anything else were regular doses of humor and prayer, for they filled his mind with happy thoughts and the availability of God's grace and love.

He shares this approach in his new work of encouragement and goodwill, "A Merry Heart: The Secret of Wellness." Structured with the sick or injured in mind, the book is a collection of snippets, each containing humor, solace and prayer, yet are short so they won't tax those needing to ration their strength. The result is an infusion of hope, love and support from a gentle voice who has made the journey to recovery and wants to share with others what got him there.

Appropriate for both the sick and those who care for them, "A Merry Heart" is sure to bring the reader a spiritual uplift and a sense of healing to soothe the soul.
