There is lots of help given to the prospector and Indians by such characters as a buxom red headed hooker, a wiley exslave, a European educated French Indian, an exconfederate sea captain, and the prospectors favorite old mule named Jake.
The whole tribe parades across western America to the west coast where a ship will be waiting to take the tribe to land in Mexico that was bought with the Indian gold.
This story will grab your interest and won't let go as it touches the debts of your soul and tickles your funny bone.
The Rocky Mountain Exodus is perhaps the best western adventure to hit the presses in this decade. With guns, girls, shootouts and laughs, this story is a must read for any one who dreams of the old, wild, west. This story is written by a man named Dillinger who works for the Postal Service. Who could know more about guns and violence.
About the Author
David Dillinger was born in the Oklahoma hills in 1953 and grew up on a small cattle ranch. A shotgun in one hand and a fishing pole in the other kept his young mind active until in the early sixties when he got his first typewriter. It only seemed natural to put something on all those blank pieces of paper and thus began a habit or writing stories.
David enlisted into the Infantry of the United States Army as soon as he finished high school. Instead of being sent to Viet Nam like almost all the men in his company, David was shipped out to Panama and the Southern Command that serves and protects Central America, South America and the Caribbean. After knocking about in the jungles of Panama for over a year, David was transferred to Texas and the 2nd Armored Division.
David finished his three year hitch in the military and then proceeded to get an education. He went to several universities and picked up a degree in Journalism Education. David worked at teaching for a short while but knew that writing was what he wanted. He worked at all sorts of jobs and found that by working for the federal government, it afforded the best opportunity to pay the bills and allow his mind to put pen to paper. David had a weekly column in the newspapers when the U.S. Congress passed a bill forbidding federal employees from having their freedom of speech. The bill stated that government employees could not be compensated for articles but allowed the sale of books. So David being a writer, he started writing books.
David is also a member of the Masonic Lodge. If you notice in his stories, he tries to put something about Masons in his writing. His current title if R.W. David Dillinger, District Deputy Grand Master of the 22nd District of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Kansas. He is also a 32 degree member of the Fort Scott Valley of the Scottish Rite and also a Noble of the Mirza Mystic Shrine of Pittsburg, Kansas.
David lives on a small secluded farm in Kansas with his wife Jackie. David still works for the federal government and is currently Postmaster of Fall River, Kansas. David and family enjoy hunting for deer, wild turkey, and other game. It seems that even after getting close to that fifty year mark, David still has a gun in one hand, a fishing pole in the other, and typewriter at his side.
