The Global Idiot
Editorial Reviews
The Think Club Quarterly, February 2001
The Global Idiot is a rare book of humor. It engages the reader from the very beginning...
Book Description
This is a book of contemporary humor. This book is a fiction. The author believes that God has given us the capability to be wise and dumb at the same time. Every person in this world can be an absolute genius and a total idiot. We all act brilliantly and foolishly in different situations. Don't we sometimes look at ourselves in retrospect and wish we had not acted the way we did?
We all have acted idiotically on many occasions, socially and professionally. Some of those moments are captured in this book.
Coming to America was a great cultural shock for the author. He found humor in people's interaction and in his own ignorance about the customs of the new land. Coming from a feudal system of work life to an open environment was another great adjustment for him. The author found humor in all those situations. He watched his fellow immigrants experimenting with new culture and still trying to maintain a link with the old. Some of their struggles are amusingly depicted in his stories.
The author observes world in its generality. He equally enjoys the substantial and the frivolous. The former fuels his intellect and the latter provides him fuel for living in the form of humor.
