Book Description
Before you send your kids to college, read this. In this classic struggle between a misguided history professor who can't tolerate hypocrisy in others and a semi-born-again college president who wants to rid the campus of all eccentrics because they think too much, see how the failure to understand anything can lead to great success.

At Armageddon International University readers will meet the lunatic fringes of college life. In these pages they will follow Phineas Finkel as he educates students for a future they will never see, leads the faculty on a failed assault against the college's president that they will always regret and gives strategic advice to the board of directors that they might wish to avoid. Undaunted, Phineas Finkel organizes a union of staff members to defend rights they don't want and leads a revolution against the college's administration, while impersonating Napoleon, toward a goal he can't understand.

About the Author
Jack Lawrence Luzkow was born in Detroit, Michigan where, as he says, he misspent his youth and early adult years. It was during this period that he served an apprenticeship for his belated development into an author of fiction. Beginning as a humble paper route boy at the age of eleven, he subsequently added character as cook's boy in a summer camp, wait boy in a Catskill hotel for Orthodox Jews, shoe salesman in a discount department store and shop assistant in a bridal registry. Later, Mr. Luzkow taught high school English in East Saint Louis.

Mr. Luzkow survived his early adulthood, earned a doctorate in European history and became a professor of European history, eventually landing in the history department of a university in Iowa. He has contented himself with teaching, research and writing historical essays that have been published in a variety of academic journals and proceedings. His career as an author of fiction began when he traveled extensively to Europe and Russia, beginning in 1988. His first novel, The Birthday Present, was inspired by travels to the California coast, Venice, Italy and Moscow, Russia where he met his future wife. It was she who urged him to write fiction.
