A Place of Belonging
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
Unhappy and at loose ends, former policeman Stephen Banks discovers Ginger Begay disembarking from a truck on a Clarkesville, Georgia, street. Banks and his lover, Mattie Hollister, admit Ginger, who has lost her memory, into their makeshift family, only to discover that Ginger’s presence brings danger.
An agent of a distant and wealthy family attacks Banks, and glimpses of Ginger’s past produce questions. Is she a prostitute? A concubine? A murderer? Embarking on a journey, ostensibly in search of Ginger’s memory, Banks and Ginger discover surprising answers to these questions.
The author has created a complex, often whimsical story of two momentarily intertwined families, one offbeat, the other wealthy but troubled. In addition to a compelling and satisfying plot, Bob Mustin offers descriptions of the Southland’s vistas as unforgettable as his uniquely drawn characters.
Bob Mustin takes us on another grand adventure of a read in this, his second novel. As always, he makes me want to read on.
