Book Description
Farley Bean has an untold story. He's not going to tell it. I guess I'll have to. At least, my version. And I'm a liar. The town. Container, a small, rural town, it probably does exist somewhere, maybe even in Wisconsin. The boy. Po, in search of his roots, drives under the late, summer, afternoon sun, a small town rising up in the distance. Well, it's not rising, but it's there. The girl. Lilac, a local, a sweet, quiet young woman, kind of cute, kind of slight. Funny thing though, just about everyone in town is terrified of her. The loft. The deep, dark, stain on the carpet. The hero. Farley Bean, he who quarterbacked Container High to victory at the Wisconsin High School State Football Championship. The mystery. Farley Bean disappeared nearly five years ago. Some folks think he just got it in his head to skip out on small town life and he went on the run. But most folks, and Po is starting to count himself among them, believes that Lilac Monroe has some talking to do about that there dark stain in the carpet.
